Dornier Museum Friedrichshafen
Prepare to be amazed by the past 100 years of aviation and aerospace history presented across some 6,000 square metres of exhibition space at the Dornier Museum. Experience innovation up close!
"Everyone can be a pioneer!" is the key message of the Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen. Located next to the airport, 100 years of thrilling aviation and aerospace history are brought to life here. The museum, which has been made to look like an aircraft hangar, is home to almost 400 exhibits across 6,000 square metres. The collection includes 12 original aircraft, seven full-scale aerospace exhibits and two life-size aircraft replicas (the Dornier Merkur and the Dornier Wal).
A journey through the past 100 years of aviation and aerospace history reveals the innovative and groundbreaking designs of aviation pioneer Claude Dornier and the Dornier Group. Countless world records, patents and technological marvels document the impressive history of Dornier. Displays on political, economic and social conditions show what motivated and inspired people in the different periods. Opening times: May to October: Every day 9 am–5 pm, November to April: Tuesday to Sunday: 10 am–5 pm
