Press release: GNTB Committee Meetings

Frankfurt am Main, 25 November 2024 – At its 127th General Assembly on 22 November in Frankfurt am Main, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) elected four new members to its 18-member Board of Directors.

The newly elected members are:

  • Stefanie Berk, Executive Board Member for Marketing & Sales, Deutsche Bahn Fernverkehr AG
  • Birgit Grauvogel, Managing Director of Saarland Tourism Board and Spokesperson for the Regional Tourism Organisations
  • Dr. Oliver Rengelshausen, Director of Account Management Travel Seller DACH & General Manager, Amadeus Germany, Amadeus IT Group GmbH
  • Johannes Walter, Vice President for Area Management Home Markets and Global B2B Servicing, Lufthansa Group

The new members will fill the seats vacated by Heike Birlenbach, Andreas Braun, Karina Kaestner, and Monika Wiederhold, who stepped down due to career changes. Their terms will run through to 2026.

In addition, during its 106th meeting on 21 November, the GNTB Advisory Board made a decision regarding the leadership of its Belgium office. The board unanimously appointed Lisa Berendsen as the new Head of the GNTB’s Belgium office, effective 1 December 2024. Berendsen has been with the GNTB’s Brussels office since January 2022, overseeing Press and Digital Management.
