Youth Hostel Oberammergau
Oberammergau Youth Hostel is located in the Ammergau Alps. The hostel stands out for its wide range of sporting activities, from discovery tours to geo caching and climbing.
The hostel has 142 beds spread over 30 rooms (single to six-bed rooms), a lounge with plenty of seating, a room for meetings and events for up to 80 people, three small lounges, two dining rooms and a cellar with a disco.

- There is a general car park. The parking space for people with disabilities is not marked (parking space size 350 cm x 500 cm). The distance to the entrance is 60 m.
- The car park and the paths to the outside stairways at the main and side entrances of the youth hostel are easy to walk and drive on due to the surface conditions.
- On the way out to the main entrance there are 28 steps without handrail.
- At the side entrance there are three steps with handrail on one side.
- The reception counter is 99 cm high. There is no possibility of communication while sitting.
- All evaluated rooms that are available to the guest can only be reached via stairs.
- There are no revolving or rotating doors. All evaluated doors and passages are at least 80 cm wide. There are doors and passages of less than 70 cm (bathroom doors in the rooms with 65 cm, door to the public toilet with 63 cm door width).
- In the dining rooms 1 and 2 there are wheelchair accessible tables.
Bedroom E.04 on the ground floor (multi-bedroom)
- The manoeuvring space in the bedroom is 120 cm x 141 cm in front of essential immobile furnishings, 250 cm x 204 cm to the right of the bed, to the left the bed stands next to the wall.
- The maximum height of the mattress is 45 cm.
- The door to the sanitary room is 65 cm wide.
- The washbasin is in the room.
The manoeuvring space in front of it is 100 cm x 99 cm.
The washbasin is not wheelchair accessible, but the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting. - The manoeuvring spaces in the sanitary room are:
at the door 84 cm x 145 cm,
in front of the toilet 95 cm x 150 cm,
on the left next to the toilet 40 cm x 55 cm,
on the right 30 cm x 55 cm. - There are no handles.
- The height of the upper edge of the shower tray to the floor at ground level is 8 cm.
- The shower area is 115 cm x 70 cm.
- A shower seat or grab handles are not available.

- There is no visually perceptible alarm in the building.
- There is no audio induction loop.
- In dining rooms 1 and 2 there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps that restrict the field of vision or eye contact. Seating areas with low background noises are available.
- In the evaluated rooms, at least one electrical outlet is available near the bed.
- Knocking at the room door is not indicated by a flashing signal.

- Both entrances can be reached via low-contrast stairways. At the side entrance there is a single-sided handrail, at the stairs to the main entrance there is no handrail.
- The operating elements can be tactilely detected almost everywhere and are visually rich in contrast.
- The sidewalks are predominantly visually contrasting and can be tactilely detected almost everywhere or the walls can be used as orientation aids.
- All evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
- Outdoor and indoor stairways are not rich in contrast.

- The name and logo of the company are clearly recognizable at the main entrance to the youth hostel, but not at the side entrance.
- Business cards/brochures with the address and telephone number of the host are visibly displayed at the reception desk.
- The destinations of the routes are usually within sight or there is an uninterrupted guidance system. There is no colored or pictorial guidance system.
- A menu is not available, the dishes are not presented visibly.
