Youth Hostel Sudelfeld (Sebrich)

The Sudelfeld youth hostel is located at an altitude of 1200 metres with a view of the Wendelstein mountain. The surrounding area invites you to take part in a wide range of activities, both in summer and winter. There is plenty on offer for school classes, sports groups or families at any time of year.

The house offers 106 beds in 19 rooms (two to ten-bed rooms), two dining rooms and lounges, outdoor sports facilities and a multi-purpose cellar.

  • There is a public car park below the youth hostel, at a distance of approx. 650 m. Parking directly at the youth hostel is possible in exceptional cases after prior consultation.
  • The entrance to the youth hostel (Main Entrance East) is only accessible via three steps. The side entrance (Entrance West) is steplessly accessible.
  • The reception is located on the ground floor. The reception counter is 105 cm high. There is no equivalent communication possibility in a sitting position.
  • The surveyed areas such as rooms and washrooms can only be reached via stairs with a one-sided handrails (no lift available).
  • The dining rooms can be reached via a threshold of 4 cm (ground floor). In the dining rooms there are no wheelchair accessible tables.
  • Doors and passageways are usually at least 70 cm wide with the exception of the sanitary areas (cabins of less than 70 cm).
  • On the extensive outdoor area there are numerous leisure facilities (such as a football field, volleyball field, small playground, table tennis tables, campfire area). These can be reached via steep paths, some with steps.
  • There are no sanitary rooms designed for people with disabilities.

Room no. 10 (multi-bedroom) on the 1st floor

  • The manoeuvring space in the bedroom
    is 180 cm x 180 cm in front of the main immobile furnishings,
    200 cm x 200 cm to the left of the bed,
    to the right the bed stands next to the wall.
  • Public sanitary rooms (showers for each floor, toilet) are available for guests of room 10. These are not designed for people with disabilities.

Room no. 14 (multi-bedroom) on the 1st floor

  • The manoeuvring space in the bedroom
    is 200 cm x 150 cm in front of the main immobile furnishings,
    150 cm x 200 cm on the right of the bed,
    to the left the bed stands next to the wall.
  • Public sanitary rooms (showers for each floor, toilet) are available for guests of room 14. These are not designed for people with disabilities.

  • There is no visually perceptible alarm.
  •  There is no audio induction loop system  
  • There is a technical possibility for deaf people to communicate with the service personnel (WiFi).
  • In the dining rooms there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the field of vision. Seating areas with low background noises are not available.
  • There is no freely available power outlet near the bed in the rooms.
  • The ringing or knocking on the room door is not indicated by a flashing signal.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed.
  • The entrance area is visually contrasted to the surrounding area and can be recognized by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • All evaluated areas that are usable by the guest are well illuminated, e.g. bright and glare-free.
  • There is a visual contrast between most of the floor covering and the stairways.
  • There is no uninterrupted guidance system (e.g. ground indicators) indoors and outdoors.
  • The paths in corridors are mostly marked with tactile markings, some of the walls can be used as orientation aids.
  • Signs are available in easily legible font, but are not rich in contrast.
  • There is no information available in Braille.

  • Business cards/brochures with the address and telephone number of the host are not visibly displayed neither at the reception desk nor in the rooms.

  • There is no colored or pictorial guidance system.
