NOVOTEL Berlin Am Tiergarten

- There are six marked parking spaces for people with disabilities in the parking garage (space size: 345 cm x 500 cm).
- The path between the parking spaces to the elevator has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 10%.
- The Tiergarten S-Bahn station is about 100 meters away.
- The path in front of the hotel is easy to walk and drive on.
- Access to the building is possible without thresholds or steplessness.
- All rooms that can be used by guests and are elevated are accessible at ground level or by elevator (exception: the terrace in the wellness area).
- All passages/doors are at least 90 cm wide (except for the doors to the saunas: 68 cm).
- The cabins of the three elevators are 110 cm x 140 cm.
- The reception counter is 115 cm high. There is an alternative communication option while seated.
- In the restaurant and conference area, there are tables that can be moved underneath (maximum height 80 cm, can be moved underneath at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
- The wellness area was elevated but not included in the evaluation.
- There are 16 barrier-free designed rooms. In these rooms there is an automatic door opening, lowered clothes rails, an alarm trigger in the bathroom. A shower chair can be provided. Height-adjustable nursing beds (by external service provider) can be provided if needed.
Room 303 (double bedroom)
- The rooms with the end number 03 are identical in construction on floors 2 to 5.
- The manoeuvering space is:
in front of essential, immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) 138 cm x 150 cm;
150 cm x 200 cm to the left and right of the bed. - The manoeuvering space in the bathroom are:
in front of/behind the door, in front of the WC and in front of the washbasin at least 130 cm x 150 cm;
138 cm x 70 cm to the right of the WC; the WC cannot be approached on the left. - There are flipped-up grab rails on both sides next to the WC.
- The washbasin has limited wheelchair access and the mirror can be viewed while standing or sitting.
- The shower is steplessly accessible. The shower area is 138 cm x 140 cm.
- Grab rails are available in the shower.
Room 307 and 310 (double bedrooms)
- The rooms with the end number 07 and 10 are identical in construction on the floors 2 to 5.
- The manoeuvering space is:

to the left and right of the bed at least 120 cm x 200 cm. - The manoeuvering space in the bathroom are:

120 cm x 70 cm to the left of the WC; the WC cannot be approached on the right. - There are flipped-up grab rails on both sides next to the WC.

Room 217 (double bedroom)
- The rooms with the end number 17 are identical in construction on the floors 1 to 5.
- There is a connecting door to another room.

to the left and right of the bed 130 cm x 200 cm. - The manoeuvering space in the bathroom are:
in front of/behind the door, in front of the WC and in front of the washbasin at least 145 cm x 145 cm;
to the right of the WC 130 cm x 70 cm, the WC cannot be approached on the left. - Grab rails are provided on both sides next to the WC, flipped up on the right side.

Public toilet for people with disabilities (ground floor)

- In the elevator, an emergency call is confirmed audibly. Alternatively, stairs are available.
- In the restaurant there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
Rooms with the end numbers 03, 07, 10, and 17
- According to the operator there are other identical rooms: 203, 303, 403, 503, 310, 410, 510, 207, 307,407, 117, 317, 417, 517, 617.
- There is at least one electrical outlet available near the bed.
- Free WiFi is available.

- Assistance dogs are allowed.
- The entrance is not visually rich in contrast.
- There are glass doors without safety markings (entrance area, wellness area etc.).
- Rooms and corridors are brightly lit.
- In the elevator an emergency call is confirmed audibly. The stopping position is not announced by spoken commands.
- Steps or stairs are not designed with visually contrasting edges.
- There is no guidance system with floor indicators in outdoor and indoor areas. Indoors, the walls can only partly be used as orientation guidelines.
- Operating elements are tactilely detectable.
- The house signage is designed in clearly legible, contrasting font.
- Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing (except in the elevators).
- The menu of the restaurant is rich in contrast. There is no menu in large print.

- The name and logo of the hotel are clearly recognizable from the outside.
- Business cards/brochures with the address and telephone number of the host are visibly displayed at the reception desk.
- The destination of the path is usually within sight or there is an uninterrupted guidance system.
- There is no information in easy language.
- There is no menu with pictures of the dishes. At breakfast the dishes are presented visibly (buffet, bar).
