Youth Hostel Frankfurt
With 395 beds and 13 conference rooms, the youth hostel in Frankfurt is one of the largest youth hostels in Germany! Guests from more than 100 countries characterize the multicultural flair - the youth of the world meet here. The hostel is centrally located on the Main river with a view of the skyline. 15 museums and almost all sights from the "Paulskirche" to the "Maintower" are within walking distance. The "Sachsenhäuser Apfelweinviertel" begins directly behind the youth hostel. The range of rooms on offer is wide: from single and double rooms with shower / toilet to 3 to 6-bed rooms with or without shower / toilet. The youth hostel has 8 barrier-free rooms.

- There are four marked parking spaces for people with disabilities (parking space size: 300 cm x 550 cm).
- The surface quality of the parking lot is easy to walk and drive on.
- The path from the parking lot to the side entrance is 10 m long. It is easy to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 3 % over a distance of 5 m.
- There are several public transport stops near the youth hostel.
- The building is accessible without steps via the alternative entrance downstairs or via a ramp at the side entrance.
- Almost all evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are stepless or accessible via ramps or elevators.
- The ramp at the side entrance has a maximum gradient of 7 % and a total length of 7 m (intermediate platforms).
- The ramp to elevator 2 (ground floor) has a maximum gradient of 5 % and a total length of 5 m.
- The elevator cabin of elevator 1 (old building) measures 160 cm x 200 cm.
- The elevator cabin of elevator 2 (new building) measures 130 cm x 200 cm.
- All evaluated passageways / doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
- The reception desk 110 cm high. There is another, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
- There are wheelchair accessible tables in the breakfast room as well as in the cafeteria (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
- Aids offered: wheelchair, stretcher. Further aids can be provided on request by the Petri medical supply store.
Room E 14 (multi-bedroom, ground floor)
- There are eight other rooms of this type, which are identical in construction according to the operator.
- The maneuvering spaces in front of / behind the door are at least 150 cm x 150 cm.
- There is a connecting door to another room.
- The maneuvering spaces are:
- in front of essential immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) 130 cm x 200 cm;
- left and right of the bed 207 cm x 200 cm;
- The bed is 46 cm high.
- The maneuvering spaces in the bathroom of room E14 are:
- in front of / behind the door, in front of the toilet as well as in front of the washbasin at least 160 cm x 146 cm;
- left of the toilet 41 cm x 70 cm and right of the toilet 154 cm x 70 cm.
- There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
- The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
- The shower is accessible without thresholds.
- The maneuvering space in the shower is 120 cm x 148 cm.
- A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
- There are grab handles in the shower.
- An alarm trigger is present.
Public toilet for people with disabilities (ground floor)
- The maneuvering spaces are:
in front of/behind the door and in front of the washbasin at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
in front of the toilet 300 cm x 145 cm;
left and right of the toilet at least 90 cm x 70 cm. - There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
- The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
- An alarm trigger is present.
Public toilet for people with disabilities (basement)
- The maneuvering spaces are:
in front of/behind the door and in front of the washbasin at least 150 cm x 100 cm;
in front of the toilet 70 cm x 135 cm;
left of the toilet at least 80 cm x 70 cm, no manoeuvring space on the right. - There is a grab rail on the left side of the toilet. The grab rail can be flipped-up.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
- The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
- An alarm trigger is present.

- Alternatively stairs are available.
- An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
- In the breakfast room as well as the cafeteria there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the field of vision or eye contact.
- There is a seating area with low background noises in the breakfast room (e.g. seating corner, separate room).
- In room E14 there is at least one freely available socket near the bed.
