Jugendherberge Oldenburg (Simon Kesting)

The modern youth hostel is located in the immediate vicinity of Oldenburg railway station. The 64 rooms (two- to four-bed rooms) have their own sanitary facilities, there are modern meeting and seminar rooms, a chic lounge with plenty of seating, a food store and a large terrace. For families, there are family flats, a separate lounge, a playroom and children's equipment such as high chairs, cots or baby monitors.

  • There are two designated parking spaces for people with disabilities. 
  • The hostel is accessible without steps.
  • Exterior paths are at least 500 cm wide. 
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are accessible without steps via an elevator. 
  • Doors are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The elevator car is 110 cm x 210 cm. The elevator door is 90 cm wide.
  • The entrance/access to the building is step-free.
  • The reception counter is 85 cm high at the lowest point. 
  • There are 12 accessible tables (maximum height 80 cm, accessible at a height of 67 cm with a depth of 30 cm). 
  • The following aids are offered: height-adjustable nursing bed (from external service provider).
  • There are a total of three barrier-free rooms.

  • The room is a shared room.
  • The movement areas are: in front of essential furnishings (e.g., cabinets) 150 cm x 150 cm; to the left of the bed 150 cm x 150 cm; to the right of the bed 120 cm x 160 cm.
  • The bed is 55 cm high.

Bathroom

  • The movement areas in the bathroom are:   in front of the sink 150 cm x 150 cm; in front of the WC 145 cm x 145 cm; to the left of the WC 90 cm x 70 cm; to the right of the WC 20 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are folding grab bars to the left and right of the WC.
  • The washbasin is accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of at least 30 cm.
  • The mirror is visible in sitting and standing position.

Public WC

  • A unisex WC is available.
  • The movement areas are: in front of the washbasin 150 cm x 150 cm; in front of the WC 150 cm x 150 cm; to the left of the WC 90 cm x 70 cm; to the right of the WC 90 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are folding grab bars to the left and right of the WC.
  • The mirror is visible in sitting and standing position.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.
