Press release: GNTB Top 100 ranking 2024 – International guests choose their favourite destinations in Germany

Frankfurt am Main, 15 August 2024 – Family-friendly holiday experiences, vibrant cities, and historical landmarks are the top picks among international visitors to the German National Tourist Board’s (GNTB) website www.germany.travel. Over 25,000 users from more than 20 countries participated in the "Top 100 Most Popular Destinations in Germany" survey between March and July 2024. The official results are available online at www.germany.travel/en/top100 as of 15th August 2024.

The Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg takes the top spot this year, followed by last year’s winner, Europa-Park, and Phantasialand Brühl in third place. The Nürburgring, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Berlin, the newly opened Deutschlandmuseum Berlin, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Margravial Opera House Bayreuth, Therme Erding, and Eltz Castle complete the top ten.

Petra Hedorfer, CEO of the DZT, commented: “The Top 100 ranking has provided Germany’s tourist destinations and attractions with a snapshot of their international visibility and popularity online for over a decade. It also validates our partners' success in promoting Germany internationally. The high participation rate further underscores the strong appeal of the 'Destination Germany' brand in global tourism.”

Since 2012, visitors to www.germany.travel have been able to vote for their favourite tourist destinations. The ranking is based solely on votes from international markets.
