Bielefeld Art Hall
The Bielefeld Art Hall is a museum and exhibition centre for modern and contemporary art. The collection includes artwork by Picasso, Beckmann, Man Ray and the "Blue Rider" artists.
The important collection on display at the Bielefeld Art Hall features artwork from the 20th and 21st centuries, including works by Picasso, Sonia and Robert Delaunay, Max Beckmann, Man Ray, and the Bridge and Blue Rider artists, along with examples of Constructivism from the 1920s by László Moholy-Nagy and Oskar Schlemmer, and American and German art from the 1970s and 1980s. The Art Hall Gardens are also home to international sculptures by the likes of Rodin, Serra, Schütte and Eliasson.
Visitors are shown around the exhibitions on guided tours and there is even a special programme designed for children. If visitors want to learn more about the art on display, they can delve into the Bielefeld Art Hall Library, where around 40,000 media items and an extensive collection of journals and periodicals await. The library specialises in writings on the various artistic movements from Classical Modernism to the modern day. Opening times: Tuesday to Friday: 11 am–6 pm, Wednesday: 11 am–9 pm, Saturday: 10 am–6 pm. Sundays and public holidays: 11 am–6 pm.
