Kestner Society Hanover
The Kestner Society, founded in 1916, is one of Germany's biggest community art galleries, showcasing work by international contemporary artists.
With its contemporary, international and diverse vibe, the Kestner Society in Hanover has been fulfilling its vision of bringing the latest art to Hanover from all over the world for over 100 years now. New exhibitions dedicated to groups and individuals regularly pop up in the halls at what used to be the Goseriede Aquatic Centre. The Kestner Society is a major player on the art scene, having put on more than 700 exhibitions to date.
The gallery is also keen to educate people about art. Through guided tours, discussions with artists and concert visits, the Kestner Society teaches about art at different levels and puts on a whole host of events that help make its exhibitions accessible to all age groups. Opening times: Every day except Monday: 11 am–6 pm, Thursday: 11 am–8 pm
