Pablo Picasso Art Museum, Münster
The Pablo Picasso Art Museum is located right at the heart of the historical Old Town, just a stone's throw from Rothenburg boulevard, and surrounded by the Prinzipalmarkt shopping centre. It is the only museum dedicated to Picasso in the whole of Germany.
Behind its heritage-listed facades, this art museum in Münster showcases more than 800 lithographs produced by Pablo Picasso. The cohesion of this unique collection can't be matched anywhere else in the world. The museum's collection also includes 101 of the artist's linocuts and no end of proofs and test prints, some of which only exist in the form of one or two copies.
The Pablo Picasso Art Museum in Münster is the first and (so far) only museum dedicated to the artist in the whole of Germany. The exhibition space covering 600 square metres alternates between topics, with various aspects and excerpts from the museum's extensive collection on display for visitors to admire. Special exhibitions featuring items on loan from international museums and collections look into the life and work of Picasso and his artist friends and contemporaries, including Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse and Georges Braque. Opening times: Monday to Sunday: 10 am–6 pm
