Willy Brandt House Lübeck
The Willy Brandt House in Lübeck was officially opened on the 94th It is an educational centre with a focus on contemporary history and a memorial dedicated to this important political figure.
The exhibition called "Willy Brandt – A Life of Politics in the 20th Century" charts Willy Brandt's career using exciting installations and multimedia elements. Democracy, human rights and peace are the other main strands of the exhibition alongside his life.
Willy Brandt's life is a reflection of Germany and Europe's eventful history over the past century. The permanent exhibition presents the recent history in a way that is suitable for all age groups and puts visitors at the heart of the action. At the Willy Brandt House in Lübeck, there is even a chance to sit on a government bench and speak at a podium. There is a special strand aimed at children that uses pictures to tell the story of how a young worker became a highly regarded global politician. The museum also arranges lectures, readings, seminars and discussion sessions.
