Here in the southern Allgäu region, those who suffer from allergies can suddenly breathe more easily. As part of the Germany-wide project being run by the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation, Bad Hindelang is the first community in the Alpine region to have been awarded the ECARF Allergy-Friendly Quality Seal. At this health resort, the focus is on giving people who suffer from allergies and intolerances a break from it all. The levels of pollen, mould spores and fine dust in the air are extremely low and some 100 allergy-friendly restaurants, accommodation providers and certified bakeries are on hand, along with the supermarket, health food store and others, to ensure that allergy sufferers can enjoy their own little slice of paradise.
