Egapark Erfurt – a treat for all the senses
Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful parks in Germany, egapark in Erfurt greets visitors with a glorious spread of flowers. It is also home to a nature experience world, a museum, playground and observation tower.
All year round, garden lovers and everyone else can enjoy flowers, trees and blossoms from all over the world: egapark Erfurt is one of the largest flower and garden parks in Germany. Already used as a park in the 1920s, the area around the old Cyriaksburg fortress was redesigned as a garden and exhibition park in 1959. A blooming superlative is the largest ornamentally planted flower bed in Europe with 150,000 spring bloomers and magnificent perennials in summer. Visitors can discover 20 inspiring themed gardens such as the Rose Garden, the Karl Foerster Garden and the Japanese Rock and Water Garden.
A desert and jungle experience that is unique in Germany awaits guests in the Danakil. On the trail of water, they cross deserts and tropics and discover all kinds of exciting information. Meerkats, ants, bats and tropical butterflies look forward to a visit. Adventure is calling here!
