Credit card spendings of foreign tourists in Germany

Credit card spendings of foreign tourists in Germany grows consecutive over the last three months: 22.3 percent of the credit card spendings of April 2019 was reached in April 2021. In June 2021, 52.6 percent of credit card spendings of June 2019 was reached.

Additionally, since April 2021 foreign tourist spendings in Germany exceed the previous years’ spending volume.

The source of information is a GNTB estimate based on and extrapolated from aggregate depersonalized card usage data provided by VisaVue Travel for the period of April 2019 to June 2021 and incorporates data from other independent research sources. Long-term residents excluded.
