2024 Q4 - Germany perceived as strong travel destination for river cruises
A significant majority of experts rate Germany as a very strong or rather strong destination for river cruises.
In Q4 2024, nearly half of the surveyed experts (48%) state that they have river cruises for trips to Germany in their portfolio, while just over half (52%) do not yet offer them.
A significant majority of experts (70%) rate Germany as a very strong or rather strong destination for river cruises compared to other European countries. More than half of the experts (58%) are planning to expand their offerings of river cruises in Germany within the next three years.
Experts who have not yet included river cruises in their product portfolio face several challenges. The main issues are the lack of awareness of the product (38%), insufficient interest from international travelers (32%), and the high price level (30%). Despite these challenges, more than a third of these experts (37%) intend to include river cruises in their product portfolio within the next three years.
