With its enviable location on the Baltic coastline, nestled amidst blue lakes and yellow canola fields, the Maritim Golfpark Ostsee is considered one of the state’s most beautiful golf facilities. Situated between Timmendorfer Strand and Travemuende, the nature and wildlife reserve around Lake Hemmelsdorfer is not only home to an abundance of unique flora and fauna, but three magnificent combinable 9 hole courses as well. With long fairways of varying difficulty, cleverly-placed obstacles and fast greens, each of the 27 holes represents its own unique challenge. And a new addition is a 6 hole course that can be played without club membership or a golf licence.

At Maritim, we have placed value on sustainability and environmental protection for many years and have already achieved a great deal in this area. Currently, we are focusing in particular on climate protection. For all German Maritim locations, a socalled CO2 footprint (“corporate carbon footprint”) is created, a special sustainability check based on a variety of criteria, including energy consumption, waste volumes or emissions. The results are used to derive individual catalogues of measures, for example for CO2 reduction or energy-related building management. It is particularly advantageous that all empirical values and initiatives can be transferred and implemented throughout the chain.

The gastronomic sector also offers many opportunities for environmentally friendly action. Here, a central purchasing committee was created with the aim of organising the purchasing of the individual hotels in a sustainable structure. One result of this is that the number of deliveries to the respective hotels can be reduced many times over. To this end, suppliers, structures and weekly delivery days were set up more economically and deliveries via logistics partners were concentrated to a large extent in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the logistics sector. Products according to seasonal availability are mainly sourced from regional cultivation or production. To support the fresh produce sector (fruit, vegetables, salads and herbs), a central supplier file was created that provides clear information on which producers from surrounding cultivation areas of the respective hotel seasonal products can be obtained from.

“ProTomorrow” Environmental responsibility – make a difference here and now. Please join in! With the “ProTomorrow” campaign, Maritim has launched a sustainability initiative in which you as our guest can actively participate. What you do: You forego the (daily) cleaning of your room if you stay two or more days with us and thus help us to conserve natural resources. What we do: For each room that does not require (daily) cleaning, we support regional environmental and social projects in the vicinity of the respective hotel.
