Museum Bread and Art - Forum World Food
The Museum Brot und Kunst (Bread and Art Museum) in the historic Ulm Salzstadel was founded in 1955 by the Ulm entrepreneurs father and son Eiselen as the first museum on the subject of bread. Special attention was and still is paid to art, which makes it possible to look at the big topic of bread and food from surprising perspectives.
The exhibition in the Museum Brot und Kunst has two parts. On one side is the art collection with works from the 15th - 21st centuries, from Stoskopff to Chagall, Pechstein and Picasso to Lüpertz and Jankowski. On the other hand, there are 19 themes that tell of the social, cultural and technical history of agriculture, food and bread. Both parts are about understanding and interpreting the world around us. The presentation is complemented by the media installation "The Future of Food".
